Welcome to Slower Dating ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Slower Dating website and mobile applications (the "Service"). By creating an account, you agree to these terms.

You must be 18 years or older to use Slower Dating.
Zero tolerance policy for underage users.
You confirm all information you provide is accurate.
If we believe your age is incorrect, we may request verification or suspend your account.
You must also be legally allowed to use online dating services in your country.

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate any account at our sole discretion where we believe it is necessary to protect the safety, integrity, or proper functioning of the platform.
This may include, but is not limited to, situations involving:

We are not required to provide advance notice before suspending or terminating an account where immediate action is considered necessary to protect users or the platform.
We may remove or restrict access to content, features, or services at any time.
If you believe your account has been suspended or restricted in error, you may request a review of the decision. To submit an appeal, contact info@datebeyondborders.com. Include your account email, a brief explanation of your request, and any relevant information you would like us to consider. We aim to review appeals promptly. Decisions made after review are final.
We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently ban accounts where necessary to protect the safety and integrity of Slower Dating. You may request a review of a suspension decision by contacting info@datebeyondborders.com.
You retain ownership of the content you submit, including your profile information (such as bio, tagline, and alias) and messages you send in chats. We do not claim ownership of your content or your private messages. Ownership of your content is separate from our role as data controller under UK GDPR when we decide how your personal data is processed — see our Privacy Policy for how we process personal data lawfully and transparently.
The platform is text-only — no photos or media attachments as part of the core Service.
By using the Service, you grant Slower Dating a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence (for as long as we reasonably need it to run the Service) to host, store, reproduce, display, analyse, moderate, and otherwise process your profile content and messages in order to operate, secure, personalise, improve, and develop the Service. This includes using automated systems and, where we deploy them, artificial intelligence (AI) for purposes such as safety and fraud prevention, policy enforcement, support, analytics, improving discovery and matching relevance, and general service improvement.
We do not sell your personal data or private messages, and we do not share them with advertisers for their own marketing.
AI model training (guardrail): We do not use your private message content to train general-purpose AI or machine-learning models for purposes unrelated to operating and improving the Service as described here. If we ever wish to do so, we will clearly disclose that separately, update these Terms and our Privacy Policy, and put in place any additional controls (including consent where appropriate) required at that time.
If you choose to provide your religion, you must give explicit consent.
You may withdraw this consent at any time via:
Settings → Privacy → Withdraw Religion Consent.
Upon withdrawal, we immediately stop processing your religion.
Premium (when offered separately from the early community launch) costs £2.99/month and may grant additions such as:
Chat requests are allowances, not guarantees. A chat opens only when both people request each other (mutual).
Auto-renewal
Premium is £2.99/month and auto-renews monthly unless cancelled. You can cancel anytime in Settings → Manage Subscription.
Cancellation
You may cancel at any time. Your Premium benefits continue until the end of the billing period.
Premium is non-refundable once activated. Because Premium grants instant access to digital features (extra daily chat requests, filters, global discovery, etc.), all sales are final.
This is standard for digital services and complies with UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. By upgrading to Premium, you agree to instant access and waive your statutory 14-day cooling-off period.

Breaches may result in suspension or termination.
Identity & Anonymity: Users remain anonymous within the platform. Slower Dating does not automatically reveal identities. Users may choose to exchange personal contact information at their own discretion.
Conversations: Conversations may continue for as long as both users wish. There is no automatic expiration tied to identity disclosure. The words you write in chat remain yours; our rights are limited to the licence in Your Content and Licence to Us above.
Chat Requests: During our early community launch, all members currently receive the same allowance: up to 10 outgoing chat requests per UTC calendar day (resets 00:00 UTC). A chat opens only when both people request each other (mutual). Requests are allowances, not guarantees.
Ending Chats: Users may end a conversation at any time. Ending a chat prevents further interaction.
Contact Exchange: Contact details are only shared if both users mutually agree to exchange them voluntarily.
We do not guarantee a chat, a date, a relationship, or chemistry.
Payments are processed securely through Stripe.
We do not store card details.
All payment data is subject to Stripe's own policies.

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes (e.g., payment records).

You may delete your account at any time through Settings → Delete Account. Upon deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Data Retention policy.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes may be resolved through the courts of England and Wales.
