Safety
Meeting safely
Words first. Meet only when you feel ready — and never alone in the dark.
Start with conversation
Slower Dating is built around chat before faces. Take your time. Trust your instincts. You never have to meet someone privately if you don't want to.
Community meetups
Group meetups are optional and arranged by members — not a fixed calendar we guarantee. There may or may not be one every month. When a meetup happens, it should be in a public place (a bar, café, or similar): say hello if you want, bring a single friend, leave when you like. No forced pairing, and you never have to meet anyone privately.
If you're chatting with someone and aren't ready for a private coffee yet, joining a community social (when one is announced) is a good middle step. See Socials for the interest list. Treat any meetup like any first meeting: public venue, tell a friend, leave if it feels off.
If you meet privately
- Meet in a public place (café, bar, restaurant).
- Tell a friend where you are and when you expect to be back.
- Arrange your own way there and home.
- Keep your phone with you. Don't share money or sensitive details.
- Leave immediately if anything feels off — you owe no one your time.
What we don't do
We do not run background checks or verify who someone is offline. You choose who to talk to, who to meet, and when. We provide the platform; you stay responsible for your own safety decisions.
Report and leave
Unmatch to end a chat. Report in the conversation or on our Report page. Email info@slowerdating.com if you need help.
Account suspension
We may suspend or restrict accounts that break our terms or raise safety concerns. If you think that was a mistake, email info@slowerdating.com with your account email and a short explanation. We review appeals; decisions after review are final.
